
Zimbabwe’s Kirsty Coventry smashed the World record for the Women’s 100m Backstroke with a time of 58.77 in her semi-final Heat at the Beijing Olympics.
Crowds cheered as Zimbabwe’s Kirsty Coventry touched the wall a full shoulder length ahead of competition to set a new world record in the Women’s 100m Backstroke.
Kirsty’s new record replaces the Olympic record she just set yesterday in the preliminaries.
