Three Zimbabwean illegal immigrants were recently given prison sentences for defrauding the National Health Services (NHS). The scams involved NHS bursary money, wages and benefits. Ignatius Dube, Dzikamai Mhakayakora and Tendayi Mukwe, are reported to be illegal immigrants in Britain and were busted by the NHS Counter Fraud team.
Ignatius Dube was jailed for 21 months at Sheffield Crown Court after netting £70 000 from NHS Bursary, wages and benefits. Dzikamai Mhakayakora was jailed at Chelmsford Crown Court for 9 months for fraud involving £85 000 in bursary and wages.
And Tendayi Mukwe was also jailed for 1 year at Chelmsford for the fraud involving £20 000 NHS bursary even though her leave to remain in the UK had expired in 2003.
