Zimbabwe News

Does Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF party really want Zimbabwe’s citizens to live in a peaceful and democratic country??? If they are committed to peace and democracy, they should have stopped this systematic abductions and torture of human rights activists, MDC activists it’s supporters and Trade Union leaders. Why can’t they let Zimbabweans live in peace???

Amnesty International demanded to know the whereabouts of human rights activist Jestina Mukoko, who it says was abducted at dawn by armed men in civilian clothes posing as police……from her home in Norton.

The human rights organisation fears the Zimbabwe authorities may have launched a new campaign to silence human rights activists in the wake of protest by the Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions.

“Mukoko’s abduction or arrest was part of an established pattern of harassment and intimidation of human rights defenders by Zimbabwean authorities in an attempt to discourage them from documenting and publicizing the violations that are taking place,” said Erwin van der Borght, Amnesty’s program director in Africa.

This systematic violation of human rights in Zimbabwe should stop. People continue to suffer in Zimbabweans whilst the world watch and do nothing. Political talk has not helped the citizens of Zimbabwe, and in fact could be responsible for the continued suffering of the citizens of Zimbabwe.

Respect for human rights should be restored in Zimbabwe. Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs should be forced to stop this systematic abductions and torture of those perceived to be against Zanu PF. Cholera is killing Zimbabwe’s citizens today…and what has the government done about it???? Maybe they are happy they don’t have to use guns to kill them.
