In the past few days, world leaders including British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, French President Nicholas Sarkozy, Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga and the archbishop of York John Sentamu have all been urging the international community to tell Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe that Enough is Enough and he must GO! This is what the majority of Zimbabweans have been saying to Mugabe, but he never listens to the citizens of Zimbabwe. Many Zimbabweans have lost their lives, just for speaking against Mugabe, many more have been tortured, raped and hundreds are now dying because of cholera brought on the people by Mugabe’s policies.
For years the world has been watching whilst Robert Mugabe destroyed the economy of Zimbabwe. As world leaders continue to talk and talk….innocent Zimbabweans continue to die. Will it ever be time to take action against Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe??
Some leaders have called for military action against Mugabe, and in turn Mugabe says Britain is using the cholera outbreak as a reason to invade Zimbabwe. But ever since the outbreak of cholera, what has Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF government doe to help the people of Zimbabwe??? Nothing!
Cholera can be prevented and can also be cured, but how many people are dying in Zimbabwe today??? All because Mugabe has allowed the distraction of the country’s infrastructure. Now he blames it on sanctions….sad!
For years innocent Zimbabweans have been tortured, killed, woman raped and thousands displaced because they don’t support Zanu PF. When did it become a crime not to support Zanu PF??? People disappear all because they speak out against human rights violations by Robert Mugabe and his government. It’s now time for action….in fact action should have been taken a long time ago.
Here is what president Sarkozy had to say about Mugabe:
“President Mugabe must go,” French President Nicolas Sarkozy said in Paris, adding that the time for negotiations was over.“There comes a time when a dictator does not want to hear, does not want to understand, and so my understanding is that heads of states and governments must end discussions.
“It is time to say to Mr Mugabe ‘you have taken your people hostage. The people of Zimbabwe have the right to freedom, to security and to respect’.”
Enough is Enough! It’s time something is done to stop this humanitarian disaster in Zimbabwe! Will it ever be time to take action against Mugabe?
