UK government backs ban on Zimbabwe cricket tour!

So the British government is still considering a ban on the Zimbabwe cricket tour!
I thought they have more serious issues to deal with in their own country than wasting time thinking of the Zimbabwe cricket tour.
According to the BBC’s Inside Sport programme, the British government is still looking at options to stop next year’s Zimbabwe cricket tour, including banning all Zimbabwean Sports men and women from competing in Britain.

What is the business of British politicians in sporting issues? They should concentrate on the political issues affecting their country and the British people. They should be dealing with the rising crime on the streets, all those teenagers killed on the streets of London every month. They should be talking about the MPs shredding important documents to hide their abuse of tax payers money. They should be talking about the economic problems facing their country, not wasting time on Zimbabwe cricket.

When are they going to stop trying to punish these young sports people for what they are not responsible for? Are they responsible for the economic problems in Zimbabwe? Are they responsible for the so called human rights abuses in the country? Are they responsible for the not so free and fair elections. These boys are not responsible for the current situation in the country and neither are they part of it. So they should be allowed to exercise their right to take part in international competitions. As do other members of the International Cricket Council.

So are they going to stop Benjani Mwaruwari from playing football for Manchester City? This is just crazy. In the townships we say “Stop this political nonsense Mr Brown”. As for David Cameroon, he should be thinking about how to get to No 10 Downing Street. He should be talking about the real bread and butter issues affecting the British people rather than gain cheap political millage at the expense of Zimbabwe sports people.
