Zanu Pf reportedly want to the new constitution to limit the presidential term of office to a maximum of 2 five year terms.
After 30 years in power now they have realised that Zimbabwe does not need a life president?
The Chronicle newspaper reported that the position paper that Zanu Pf intends to distribute to its supporters also says
Morgan Tsvangirayi and Joyce Mujuru
- The Presidential term of office should run concurrently with that of MPs.
- Executive authority rests with the President and Cabinet.
- The President is Head of State and Government and Commander of Defence Forces.
- The President appoints one and not more than two Vice Presidents.
- There should be no Prime Minister
Zanu Pf also wants “equal gender representation in all spheres of society and a ban on homosexuality”.
So, is Zanu Pf going to tell the President that he has been in power for 30 years therefore he should not stand for re-election?
