Sending Goods To Zimbabwe Via Freelance Couriers

Once in a while we all want to send goods to our loved ones back home in Zimbabwe. About two weeks ago I was shopping around for cheaper and reliable courier services to Zimbabwe, when a friend of mine referred me to a freelance courier from Zimbabwe.

I was able to send my little sister’s baby stuff from London, and I was impressed by the service all the goods got to Zimbabwe and on time.

For a while now we have had these enterprising man and women coming from Zimbabwe on their regular business trips. And on the journey back home they carry your goods for for a set price. I find them comparatively cheaper than other shipping companies to Zimbabwe and very reliable.

Plus the business of shipping goods to Zimbabwe has got a lot of conman involved. Many Zimbabweans in the diaspora have stories to tell about these criminals.

The main advantage is the personalised service, in my case my little sister could not go and collect her goods because she had just given birth. And the gentleman delivered her goods home. How nice was that…God bless him.

On the occasions that I have used these freelance couriers to send my goods to Zimbabwe, I haven’t had any problems of my goods getting lost or my goods taking half a year to get to Zimbabwe. So I would recommend them if you get someone you trust.

Unlike the last time I send my goods to Zimbabwe with one of the shipping companies, they took six months to get my goods to Zimbabwe. You can read the story here (Before Sending Your Goods To Zimbabwe Read This).

So have you used freelance couriers to send goods to Zimbabwe? What was your experience like? Feel Free to share by posting your comments.

    Hi Peter,

Nice to know that you got a good service. I would have appreciated if you had told your fellow Zimbabweans what was good about the service that you got.

What makes this company different from all those so called Zim cargo companies out there?

  3. Moyo Trinose says:

This company is the first to be operated by Zimbabweans in Australia. They have never let me down.I live about 2000 km from them, but they still make collection. The only downside i think is that they do not ship frequently. They ship every 3 months

  4. Soko Mukanya says:

@Trinose I guess you are talking about Zimexpressfreight, nice to know that there are still genuine business people out there.

I will try to get these guys at Zimexpressfreight to tell us more about there services and gives us their contact details for the benefit of other zimbabweans in Australia.

On the 8 of june 2009 last year i sent my goods with MAP investiments 3 drums and i gave them £480.00 which i lost till today those goods never arrived but they will pay one way or onother

  8. Shillar Moyo says:

I wish i hadn’t known the MAP investements people ,now they have resorted in not picking up their phones. I pray that God wont give them rest in what they did to people. They know what they did with my goods ,but my goods will work for me

  9. Soko Mukanya says:

@ Shillar I’m sorry to hear about what the people at MAP Investmments have done to you. It’s sad and it makes me angry that we have so called Zimbabwean business people, and there are loads of them in the shipping industry who are nothing but thieves.

I had well documented problems with the so called Zimcargo, check these previous posts.

But who are these MAP Investments people? Where are they based, Zimbabweans in the diaspora we need to expose these conman so we do not continue losing our hard earned money to thieves.
