Roy Bennett Acquitted On Charges Of Plotting To Overthrow Robert Mugabe

Roy Bennett of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) has been acquitted of terrorism charges.

Judge Muchineripi Bhunu ruled that the prosecution had failed to prove that the alleged link between Roy Bennett and a convicted arms dealer was genuine.

“The state has failed to prove its case,” judge Muchineripi Bhunu told a packed courtroom as he dismissed the charges. “The accused is accordingly found not guilty.”
