Power-sharing talks between Mugabe and the opposition leaders, Morgan Tsvangirai and Arthur Mutambara were set to resume later on Monday.
President Mugabe told his supporters in Harare today that there was progress in the power-sharing talks with opposition leaders.
A power-sharing deal could end the current political crisis in the country, and encouraging developments of a deal in the past few days have raised hopes of economic recovery in the troubled country.
South African president, Thabo Mbeki is mediating in the power-sharing talks.
“We had a long night negotiating on some little hurdles and I thought I should raise my fist but he(Thabo Mbeki) remained cool and said: ‘let us continue talking’, President Mugabe said in his address at the National Heroes Day celebrations.
