On the death of Ian Smith – Former Rhodesia Prime Minister

Well, it was sad to hear that Ian Douglas Smith the former Prime Minister of Rhodesia passed away. Besides all he did during his time in power may his soul rest in peace. He was not the favourite of the Zimbabwean people, he may still not be to others even in his grave. Sometimes it’s difficult to forgive and forget.

Ian Smith was not the best thing to happen to our country, Zimbabwe. He believed the country belonged to the white people only, which is difficult to understand why? Probably it was because of all the good living in a country with all those resources and the lovely weather.

He believed that there will never be any black rule in Zimbabwe as long as he lived, but well he lived long enough to see the black rule and be ruled by the blacks. He is the many who introduced whites only places in our country Zimbabwe. He even went to war because he did not want to give up this country.

But besides all that happened during those times, people had something to eat. Atleast people new it was war time, compared to now when people suffer in an independent Zimbabwe. There is no fuel, no cash in the banks, no food, no electricity. What sort of country is this?

R.I.P Ian Douglas Smith
