Zimbabwe’s Anti Corruption Commission says it is looking for musician and director of Ekhaya Petroleum Tendai Mupfurutsa who is wanted for various fraud cases. According to a report on ZBC Newsnet, Mupfurutsa was approached by three people who wanted to buy vehicles from Thailand.
Mupfurutsa is alleged to have offered to transfer US$ 73 450 from his off shore account into an account of a company which supplies vehicles upon receiving cash from the three.
It is further alleged that when Mupfurutsa received the cash from the trio he did not transfer the money into the account of the company selling vehicles as agreed.
It is also understood that after receiving pressure from the three complainants, Mupfurutsa later paid US$30 000 out of the total US$73 450 agreed to facilitate the deal.
Well, when it comes to corruption the government should do everything possible in order to create a corruption free Zimbabwe, a new Zimbabwe brand. But this Anti Corruption Commission should not miss those senior politicians who have been involved in some of the most serious corruption cases in Zimbabwe.
