Mugabe and Tsvangirai close to power sharing deal

It is encouraging every time there are indications that Zanu PF and the MDC are close agreeing on a power-sharing deal that will bring an end to the political crisis in Zimbabwe.

President Robert Mugabe and opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai will hold make or break talks in Harare on Sunday aimed at finalising a power sharing deal, a South African newspaper said on Friday.

But is the Zimbabwe power-sharing deal close?

Business Day, citing unnamed sources, said it is understood Robert Mugabe and Morgan Tsvangirai were not “too far from apart” even though the central issues remain unresolved.

South African President, Thabo Mbeki is expected to fly to Harare for the talks on Saturday or Sunday, Business Day said.

Because not much information officially comes from within the negotiating parties, the people of Zimbabwe continue to rely on media speculation. But, we just hope there is an end insight to the problems affecting our country.
