So many companies and individuals are now offering money transfer services to Zimbabwe. There is Western Union, MoneyGram, Money Bookers just to mention a few. I have used Western Union and MoneyGram before. Of the two companies I prefer Western Union since it’s cheaper to send money with them than using MoneyGram. However there are also other service providers that others may be using to send money to Zimbabwe.
Which other companies offer a fast and reliable money transfer service to Zimbabwe?

We understand service providers maybe different depending on which country you are sending money from. It will be important to let others know if the money transfer company is available only in specific countries or it’s an international company.

I don’t send money home cause they asked me not to….they rather want food etc as the money can’t buy anything there is nothing on the shelves…..and as I live in SA I use the bus drivers etc to get the food home to Masvingo….
Hi Sdudhla – With empty shelves it makes sense to send food rather than money. But it probably works better for you guys closer to Zim or maybe if you have someone reliable to ship goods with.
I have had problems with people shipping goods to Zim in the past. Now I send money and they cross the border to shop in SA.

I would want to disagree with you there, there are things that you expect from any company that you are going to transfer your money with.
Things like; Reliability of the company, can they be trusted, is your money going to be safe, is your money going to be transfered on time, how easy it is to collect the money. So if you know what you want it’s easy to decide who to send money with.
It’s unfortunate I had to delete your comments because I will not accept spam, comments left just to advertise a company. At least you should have explained how the company is better than the ones we already know.
And above all tell us why people should use it.
I trust the guys at Mukuru.com which offer money transfer to Zimbabwe through cash collection or FCA top-up. You can call them or go to the website and then the confirmations and vouchers are sent via email and SMS. They also offer an affiliate programme where if you tell your friends and family your number then you can get a discount on the next order.

They also offer SPAR coupons, petrol vouchers, and online bill payments. My friends use mukuru and haven’t had any problems. It was started by people from Zim and seems to offer some of the best rates.
Also chitoro is an option, although I haven’t used them personally.
I send money to Zimbabwe every week and have done for years and there is no question that the most efficient service that I have used is Chitoro.com You can compare the rates between Mukuru , Western Union, Moneygram , Ayabo ….Anyone…and Chitoro beats them all on rates every time.
Also if you are sending more than £500 you can ask for a better rate.
Today for example 26th May 2010 Mukuru rate £-USD = 1.3179 and Chitoro rate was 1.3700 It seems like a no brainer to me.
I recommend Chitoro.com for a good deal.
It depends, price isn’t everything – I use Mukuru because they have an established name, and have been offering a great level of service to me for five years. I agree, there are cheaper options, but with Mukuru I can pay instantly with my credit card so I don’t have to walk to the bank at lunch, or anything. Looking at their site, they are also respected by some big media names, BBC, The Economist, The Times – it just makes me feel a bit more comfortable, and if that costs £1 or £2 more than so be it.
