Football today: Thiery Henry’s goal France vs Ireland

World News

So much has been said about the goal Thiery Henry scored in the FIFA World Cup qualifying match against Ireland on Wednesday. The Irish feel that they were cheated,Henry handled the balled before Gallas scored. So, they want a replay and I doubt FIFA would agree to such crazy thoughts. Replay for what???

Ireland had the chance to win this game in the first 90 minutes. If Duff and Robbie Keane had not missed those chances, Ireland will be going to South Africa next year. If their defence had done it’s job Henry should not have had the chance to handled that ball.

They even had Irish lucky on their side. France should have got a penalty for that foul on Anelka by Given.

So the Irish should just get over it, they are not going to the World Cup period. We have had so many cases like these in football, the most famous one being England vs Maradona (remember the hand of God?). What happened between Chelsea and Barcelona????

As for conspiracy favouring the big nations. Do you still remember what happened between England and the mighty indomitable lions of Cameroon at the World Cup in 1990? Now who is making the most noise? It’s the English press.

This is football, Ireland is staying home and they have to live with it. See you in South Africa Thiery Henry.
