What happened to housing for all by the year 2000? The government promised housing for everyone and I think large sums of money where budgeted for this, so why do we have people living in shacks today?

Thirty years of Independence and we have people without land, a place where they can build a house to live.

This government has failed the people, do they still have anything to offer?

Something they have failed to do in the past 30 years.

A few years ago the government destroyed people’s house during ‘Operation Murambatsvina’.

Did they make any plans and provided accommodation for those affected? This is the kind of people who still want to be in power?

Is this a responsible government, a government which values the welfare of the citizens of Zimbabwe?

If at all they care so why do we have people living in shacks today after 30 years of independence?

2.8 million Zimbabweans face hunger crisis due to drought that has affected food production in most parts of the country.

The International Red Cross has launched an urgent appeal for funding. The organisation is reported to be facing a shortfall of $23.9 million for its programs in Zimbabwe which include home care for people infected by HIV.

Zimbabwean refugees and thousands other foreigners squat in abandoned buildings in downtown Johannesburg, South Africa. So sad to see our fellow Zimbabweans living in these conditions after running away from the ruins of our own Zimbabwe in search of a better life in South Africa.

But, is it better to be a squatter in South Africa living under such conditions than to go back to Zimbabwe? Our politicians are telling us life is getting back to normal in Zimbabwe.

It was reported that over US$300 000 was spend on birthday celebrations whilst people are running away from the poverty in the country. We expect better from our political leaders.

In a few weeks time, Zimbabweans will be celebrating Independence Day.

This week Robert Mugabe celebrated 30 years in power. It has been reported that he will stand again for re-election if the Zanu PF congress wants him to.

But is this in the best interest of Zimbabwe and its citizens?

Is it better to be a squatter in South Africa than go back to Zimbabwe?

A law was recently imposed in Zimbabwe which forces all foreign owned companies to give 51% of their shares to ‘indigenous’ people.

According to news reports Statutory Instrument number 21 gives any relevant business with assets of more than $500 000 45 days to submit a plan for achieving this transfer of ownership within 5 years.

After watching “Zimbabwe’s Forgotten Children” on BBC, it’s so sad that instead of addressing such critical problems our politicians don’t seem to care.

It was party time in the City of Kings today when Cde Robert Mugabe’s supporters celebrated his 86th birthday.

It has been reported that US$300 000 was spent on these celebrations.

The Chinese Embassy gave a cake the size of a large TV,

which Mugabe’s wife Grace helped cut Saturday in the southern

city of Bulawayo.

Lupepe says:

“We have to celebrate our leader, who’s now 86. How many people reach that age?”

This is that time of the year when farmers start enjoying the benefits of all that hard work in the maize fields.

Thanks to Mr Mwanaka, at least we get fresh maize even though it doesn’t taste the same. Hapana chimwe chibage chinonaka seche ku Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is a country blessed with such great music talent, we are a nation who loves and appreciates the rhythms from our motherland. In this discussion lets talk about Zimbabwe’s top 10 best musicians of all time.
