I suggested to my friends that I am planning to go into politics in fact I want to play this game. They were surprised and not even one seemed to support my idea, they think I’m bonkers. It seems people have a bad picture about politics and politicians, some even think I will die mysteriously in a car accident.
People have grown up in a political climate where there seems to be a systematic elimination of political opponents and perceived enemies. But is this a good enough reason not to play ‘Politics’?
Do you trust politicians?
In the UK, Gordon Brown of Labour, David Cameroon – Conservatives and Nick Clegg – Liberal Democrats are busy promising us this and that trying to entice us to vote for them. After all who doesn’t want to be British Prime Minister? But why should we vote for either of these guys? Do you think these guys really care about us?
David Cameroon has promised ‘married couples tax break’ I think about £3 per week, that’s his idea of mending ‘broken British society’. So what about the ‘single parents’ living in poverty? Is it their fault they are not in marriage?
Well the David Cameroon and his Conservatives also say immigration is too high and will be reduced to levels last seen in the 1990s, interesting this affects immigrants from outside the European Union.
Well, this is politics. People don’t trust politicians, they promise promise and never deliver.
As an immigrant in the UK who should get my vote in the coming general election?
