South Africa’s World Cup Vuvuzela Is Just Like Marmite

Vuvuzela the distinctive sound of Africa’s 2010 Football World Cup is  like Marmite, its either you love the Vuvuzela or you hate it.

South Africa partied to the defeaning noise of the Vuvuzela as the 2010 World Cup kicked off in style at Johannesburg’s Soccer City Stadium.

South Africa played Mexico in a game that could have gone either way, but at the end of the day a draw was probably what the two teams deserved.

But there is no doubt Africa’s World Cup will be remembered for the distinctive noise of the Vuvuzela. Some people have found them entertaining and to some infuriating.

The noise is like a swam of bees in the giant stadiums. How are the coaches managing to communicate with the players, and the players communicating with each other on the pitch?

But like Marmite you either love the Vuvuzela or you hate it. What are your views on the Vuvuzela?

Uruguay v France Africa’s 2010 World Cup

France scrapped through the play-offs to get to the 2010 World Cup, there have also been problems in the France World Cup squad so how will they perform against Uruguay?

In the second game of the 2010 World Cup, France take on Uruguay with massive problems in the dressing room.

No Thierry Henry in the line-up, no Florent Malouda in the team probably why Domenech is not a popular man in France at the moment.

France:

Hugo Lloris, Bacary Sagna, Eric Abidal, William Gallas, Patrice Evra, Yoann Gourcuff, Jeremy Toulalan, Abou Diaby, Sidney Govou, Nicolas Anelka, Franck Ribery.

Football World Cup South Africa v Mexico

The opening match of the 2010 Football World Cup South Africa v Mexico at the Soccer City Stadium in Johannesburg, South African President Jacob Zuma officially opened the tournament.

18 minutes played, South Africa are living dangerously, Mexico have been playing the most attacking football so far. Efrain Juarez of Mexico receives the first yellow card of the 2010 World Cup.

Mexico had 61% possession in the first 30 minutes of the game.

38′ Goal Mexico!!! Disallowed!! offside Vela.

43′ What a chance for South Africa to go in front! South Africa have passed the ball well in the last few minutes.

Half Time South Africa 0-0 Mexico

South Africa are hanging in there, I hope they will play better than that in the second half. Mexico have been the best team so far.

54′ Tshabalala has scored the first goal of the 2010 World Cup.

Final score South Africa 1-1 Mexico, they were under pressure in the first half but I think from their performance in the second half South African should have won it.

Caster Semenya Could Still Be Allowed To Run As A Woman

Caster Semenya’s lawyer is reported to have said in April that she could still run as a woman, the South African women’s 800 metres World Champion will today hear the results of her gender verification tests.

A media conference has been scheduled for today in Johannesburg and will be hosted by the South African minister of sport Makhenkesi Stofile.

World 800m Champion Semenya

Semenya and her lawyers are also set to attend the conference.

Well, we know Caster Semenya is a bit masculine but whats wrong with that?

If she is a woman, she is a woman lets get over it and let her compete, and the whole world will watch her dominate the women’s 800 metres events.

The conference is set for 14:00 UK time.

I’m sure she has gone through a lot ever since the tests at the Berlin World Championships in August last year.

Anyone Surprised Theo Walcott Has Been Left Out Of England 2010 World Cup Squad

Sky Sports news sources have reported that Arsenal midfielder Theo Walcott has been left out of the England squad for this summer’s FIFA World Cup in South Africa.

This is probably the most surprising omission since all along it looked as if Theo was guaranteed at least a place among the final 23.

Theo was selected for the last World Cup in Germany before he had even played a premier league game for Arsenal.

It has not really worked for him in the last two England friendlies, his final pass always lets him down.

I’m happy for Ledley King, he is a massive massive talent and going to the World Cup in South Africa is the icing on a very successful season with Tottenham despite all those injuries.

I’m also happy for Joe Cole the most creative player in that England midfield.

Players left out of the squad Darren Bent, Adam Johnson, Leighton Baines, Theo Walcott, Tom Huddlestone, Scott Parker and Michael Dawson.

The full team is going to be officially confirmed at 4pm today
