So what is it that came out in the election results? Did the president Robert Mugabe lose so overwhelmingly to Morgan Tsvangirai of the MDC that it’s so hard to accept?
If people are now being arrested and Zanu PF querying the election results, is it that they already know the results then? Even though the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission has not announced the results of the recent elections.
Why is the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission not announcing the results? There is no doubt the longer they delay in releasing the results, the more the results lose credibility. Are they trying to play around with the people’s vote because they did not vote in the same way they expected?
Their continued delay in releasing results has now resulted in those misguided war veterans becoming a law unto themselves. Because there is no control, these people are now going into the few commercial farms left. To destroy whatever little is left of the agricultural sector. They have found an opportunity to loot whatever little resources are left in the country.
If we assume that the MDC bribed the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission officials. The Zanu PF should now know how it feels to have your vote stolen. But there is no time for assumptions, if votes were rigged it is only by the ruling party. They have all the machinery to rig the vote in their control. Now that they failed even with such rigging they have now decided to hold on to the election results forever.
Arresting ZEC officials is just a smoke screen, they will not fool anyone. Are these desperate measures by a regime which does not want to accept that it has lost power?
