Zimbabwe's Best Olympian Ever: Kirsty finally get's Gold in Record Time at Beijing 2008

She is the 'Real Deal', the best athlete Zimbabwe has ever had, and every Zimbabwean should be proud of Kirsty Coventry's. Congratulations Kirsty!

She smashed another world record! Isn't that phenomenal?

Finally it's Gold for Kirsty! After winning three Silver Medals at the Beijing 2008 Olympics, Zimbabwe's Kirsty Coventry finally got the Gold Medal she deserved. She got gold in the Women's 200m Backstroke at the National Aquatics Centre on Saturday.

Opposition blown away!

The defending Olympic champion blew away her opposition from start, turning in front at each end under world record pace. She turned at the half way mark in 1:32:69 to come home in 32.55 to better the world record by 0.85 seconds with a time of 2:05:24.

Only the great Michael Phelps can probably better that performance. But isn't she phenomenal, Kirsty is "Simply the Best".
